Smoke & Mirrors

First off I’d like to express my many thanks to all the viewers I have had these past 24 hours in going public with this site. It’s always a challenge for me to put myself out there and I truly appreciate all the support and positive feedback you have given me. You are my inspiration and I hope this next entry will inspire you too.

The Halloween season is here and with it comes our ever-growing fascination with magic. Have you every wished you could make things happen with just the twitch of your nose? Or maybe you went through that phase as a kid where you tried to learn card tricks?

If you don’t fit into either of these examples, there is no denying that all of us wish we had a special power of some sort. That’s why I’m going to let you in on a few magic tricks you can experiment with in your home. By the time I’m done with ya, you’ll be able to make any of your rooms suddenly appear bigger without even having to say, “Abracadabra!”

Large mirrors reflect light into a room making it look bigger and brighter. Depending on the style and placement of the mirror it can even look like another window.

Hanging curtain rods closer to the ceiling have a way of drawing the eye upwards and making the room seem taller.

Bulky cabinetry or shelving on the walls has a way of making a space seem smaller. Under-the-bed drawers provide a new home for shelved items so you can free up more wall space. Now you see it–now you don’t!
